The Dublin Core Metadata Initiative began as a loose association of individuals formulating consensus standards for resource discovery. As use of DC metadata has spread, the need for a global and independent host organization has increased. The DCMI Affiliate program is intended to promote and support DCMI through financial support, localization and promotion, and governance.

Stuart Weibel will summarize the main features of the program, and lead a discussion and question & answer period with a panel of representatives of current DCMI affiliates and the audience.
